AGRIVENTURE CARZONE (Chlorantraniliprole 18.5% SC) Insecticide
Description:
AGRIVENTURE CARZONE is a broad-spectrum, systemic insecticide primarily used to control caterpillars, borers, and defoliators. It works by disrupting insect muscle function, causing immediate feeding cessation and paralysis. It is highly effective for crops like rice, sugarcane, cotton, and various vegetables.
Technical content: Chlorantraniliprole 18.5% SC
Key Features & Benefits:
- Immediate Feeding Cessation: Pests stop feeding within minutes of ingestion or contact, preventing further crop damage almost instantly.
- Unique Mode of Action: It disrupts insect muscle function, making it highly effective against pest populations that have developed resistance to older insecticides.
- Long-Lasting Protection: Its systemic and translaminar properties allow it to move throughout the plant, providing extended residual control with fewer applications.
- Broad Spectrum & Stage-Wide Control: It targets pests across multiple life stages (eggs, larvae, and adults), effectively controlling stem borers, leaf folders, fruit borers, and bollworms.
- Safe for Beneficials: Highly selective; it does not harm honeybees or natural predators, making it ideal for Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
- Safe for the Environment: It is highly selective, meaning it primarily targets pests while remaining safe for beneficial insects, pollinators, and natural predators.
Crops suitability: Paddy, Cotton, Cabbage, Sugarcane, Tomato, Chili, Brinjal, Soyabean, Bengal Gram, Black Gram, Bitter Gourd, Okra
Commonly used for (Insect / Diseases):
- Paddy / Rice: Stem borers, leaf folders.
- Maize (Corn): Fall armyworm (FAW), spotted stem borer, pink stem borer.
- Sugarcane: Early shoot borer, top borer, termites.
- Cotton: American bollworm, spotted bollworm, tobacco caterpillar.
- Vegetables (Chilli, Tomato, Brinjal, Okra, Cabbage): Fruit borer, shoot borer, diamondback moth (DBM), tobacco caterpillar.
- Pulses & Oilseeds (Soybean, Groundnut): Green semilooper, girdle beetle, tobacco caterpillar.
Mode of entry:
- Ingestion (Stomach Action): This is the primary entry method. Once sprayed, the active ingredient is absorbed into the plant's tissues. When targeted pests (like caterpillars or borers) feed on the treated plant, they ingest the chemical.
- Contact Action: The chemical also acts on contact. If the insecticide spray lands directly on the insect or its larvae, it is absorbed through the insect's cuticle (exoskeleton).
Mode of action:
The active ingredient primarily targets chewing insects (like caterpillars and borers) through ingestion, though it also has some contact activity.
- Binding to Receptors: The chemical enters the pest and binds specifically to the ryanodine receptors. These receptors act as gates for the release of calcium within muscle cells.
- Uncontrolled Calcium Release: Binding forces the receptors open, causing an unregulated, massive leakage of stored calcium.
- Paralysis & Death: With no calcium regulation, the muscles undergo continuous, uncontrolled contractions. The insect becomes paralyzed, stops feeding almost instantly, and dies within 24 to 72 hours.
Mode of application: Foliar spray
Dose: 0.3 – 0.5ml in 1 liter water or 50 – 60ml in 1 acre or 5 – 7ml in 15-liter water

Additional information:
- Versatile Life-Stage Control: Highly effective ovi-larvicidal and larvicidal activity; it kills insect eggs, larvae, and pupae upon contact or ingestion.
- Crop Safety: Highly selective to target pests, while remaining safe for beneficial insects, natural predators, and labeled crops.
- Low Dose: Highly effective at low application rates, reducing overall input costs while maintaining performance.
- Formulation Type: As a Suspension Concentrate (SC), it mixes easily with water and leaves no powdery residue on crops.
