AGRIVENTURE TEMBO (Tembotrione 34.4% SC) Herbicide
Description:
AGRIVENTURE TEMBO is a highly effective, selective post-emergence herbicide used to control grassy and broad-leaf weeds in maize (corn). It works by inhibiting the 4-HPPD enzyme, causing a characteristic "bleaching" (turning white) of target weeds within 3 to 5 days, followed by their complete death.
Technical content: Tembotrione 34.4% SC
Key Features & Benefits:
- Dual Weed Control: Systemic post-emergence action targets both tough annual grasses (e.g., Echinochloa, crabgrass) and common broadleaf weeds (e.g., Trianthema).
- Advanced Technology: It acts as an HPPD inhibitor (4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase), halting carotenoid production so that chlorophyll cannot protect the plant from light, leading to rapid weed desiccation and death.
- Crop Safety: Highly selective and safe for maize crops, causing no known variety restrictions.
- Rain fast Property: Highly resistant to being washed away by unexpected rain shortly after application.
- Long-Lasting Efficacy: Delivers prolonged effectiveness, reducing the need for multiple applications.
Crops suitability: Maize (Sweet corn, field corn, and fodder corn)
Commonly used for: Grassy weeds (like Echinochloa and Brachiaria species) and broadleaf weeds (like Trianthema portulacastrum).
Mode of entry: Systemic
Mode of action:
- Foliar Absorption: The chemical is absorbed rapidly through the leaves and stems of emerged, actively growing weeds.
- Enzyme Blockage: Tembotrione halts the activity of the 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD) enzyme.
- Pigment Disruption: This blockage prevents the synthesis of carotenoids—essential plant pigments that protect chlorophyll.
- Bleaching & Necrosis: Without protective pigments, the chlorophyll is rapidly destroyed by sunlight. Treated weeds experience characteristic "bleaching" (turning white) and completely wither within a few days.
Mode of application: Foliar spray
Dose: 11.5ml in 15-liter water or 115 ml per acre
Additional information:
- Application Timing: Post-emergence, generally 15 to 25 days after sowing.
