AGRIVENTURE OXYFLOU (Oxyflourfen 23.5% EC) Herbicide
Description:
AGRIVENTURE OXYFLOU is a highly effective, selective broad-spectrum herbicide used in both pre-emergence and early post-emergence applications. It is primarily used to control tough broadleaf weeds and annual grasses in crops like onions, garlic, rice, tea, cotton, and sugarcane.
Technical content: Oxyflourfen 23.5% EC
Key Features & Benefits:
- Dual Action: Functions as both a pre-emergence (stops seeds before they sprout) and an early post-emergence (burns existing young weeds on contact) treatment.
- Long-Lasting Residual Control: Forms a protective chemical layer in the soil, preventing subsequent flushes of weeds and reducing the need for repeated applications.
- Crop Selectivity: When used at recommended Doses, it selectively kills weeds without causing harm to target crops like onions, tea, potatoes, groundnuts, and direct-seeded rice.
- Cost & Labor Efficiency: By eliminating early weed competition for nutrients, water, and sunlight, it allows crops to establish stronger roots and maximizes yield potential.
Crops suitability:
- Vegetables: Onions, garlic, potatoes, tomatoes, brinjal, and okra.
- Plantation Crops: Tea and coffee.
- Field & Cash Crops: Cotton, sugarcane, groundnut, and soybeans.
- Cereals: Direct-seeded and transplanted rice.
- Fruits/Orchards: Citrus, grapes, and pomegranates.
Commonly used for: Widely applied in onions, tea, potatoes, groundnuts, and rice (paddy). It is also occasionally used for cotton, sugarcane, and various vegetables.
Mode of entry: Selective Contact
Mode of action:
- Enzyme Inhibition: It inhibits the protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO) enzyme, which is essential for chlorophyll synthesis and plant growth.
- Oxidative Destruction: In the presence of sunlight, the blocked pathway causes a toxic buildup of compounds that destroy the weed's cell membranes.
- Rapid Desiccation: This membrane breakdown leads to leakage of cell contents, resulting in rapid wilting, drying (desiccation), and the death of the weed.
Mode of application: Foliar spray or Foil application
