AGRIVENTURE PENDI SILVER (Pendimethalin 30% EC) Herbicide
Description:
AGRIVENTURE PENDI SILVER is an agricultural pre-emergence herbicide primarily used to control annual grasses and broadleaf weeds in crops like wheat, soybean, cotton, and onions. It works by inhibiting cell division in germinating weeds.
Technical content: Pendimethalin 30% EC
Key Features & Benefits:
- Pre-Emergence Action: Applied to the soil just before crop or weed emergence to stop weed seeds from germinating.
- Broad-Spectrum: Effectively controls a wide variety of annual grasses and specific broadleaf weeds (e.g., Echinochloa, Amaranthus).
- Selective Control: Target weeds are eliminated while cash crops remain entirely safe.
- Emulsifiable Concentrate (EC): Formulated as an easily mixable liquid that is straightforward to apply via soil drench or spray.
- Strong Residual Control: Forms a protective, long-lasting herbicidal layer in the topsoil to prevent weed regrowth.
- Reduces Labor Costs: Eliminates or drastically reduces the need for manual weeding and tilling.
- Maximizes Yield Potential: Allows young crops to establish strong roots without competing for essential soil nutrients, water, and sunlight.
- Crop Versatility: Trusted for use across various agricultural, horticultural, and forestry settings.
Crops suitability:
- Cereals & Grains: Wheat, Paddy (Rice), and Maize.
- Pulses & Oilseeds: Soybean, Groundnut, Mustard, and various other Pulses.
- Cash Crops: Cotton.
- Vegetables & Spices: Onion, Garlic, Cumin, and other horticultural row crops.
Commonly used for: It acts on both narrow and broad-leaf weeds, including:
- Grasses: Jungle rice (Echinochloa colona), Crabgrass (Digitaria spp.), and Crowfoot grass (Eleusine indica).
- Broadleaves: Pigweed (Amaranthus viridis), Purslane (Trianthema spp.), and Dayflower (Commelina benghalensis).
Mode of entry: Selective
Mode of action:
- Microtubule Inhibition: It belongs to the dinitroaniline chemical family and binds to tubulin, blocking the formation of microtubules. This prevents the development of the mitotic spindle, which is essential for plant cell division.
- Root and Shoot Absorption: The herbicide forms a chemical barrier in the topsoil. It is absorbed by the roots and emerging shoots of germinating weeds.
- Cessation of Growth: Affected weeds experience stunted root and shoot development, and they ultimately die shortly after germination due to the lack of new cell formation.
- Residual Control: It provides long-lasting residual control (typically 30–45 days), keeping the field clear of new weed flushes while your crop becomes established.
Mode of application: Spraying uniformly over the soil surface within 0–3 days of sowing/planting, but before the crop and weeds have emerged.
Dose: 100 ml in 15-liter water or 1 litter per 1 acre
Additional information:
- Application Timing: Best results are achieved when applied before weed emergence—typically within 0 to 3 days after sowing or transplanting the crop.
- Soil Conditions: It requires sufficient soil moisture at the time of application to properly form the protective surface barrier.
