Description:

AGRIVENTURE POPICON is a broad-spectrum, systemic triazole fungicide. It protects major crops like wheat, rice, and soybeans from fungal infections by inhibiting ergosterol biosynthesis. It acts both preventively and curatively, translocating upward through the plant's vascular system to provide long-lasting control.

Mode of action:

• Biochemical Action: It inhibits the enzyme sterol 14α-demethylase. This prevents the fungus from converting precursor sterols into ergosterol. Ergosterol is an essential building block for fungal cell membranes; without it, the fungus is unable to grow or reproduce.
• Fungistatic Effect: Rather than instantly killing the fungus on contact, it inhibits growth and cell wall formation, eventually causing the pathogen to starve and die.
