AGRIVENTURE MAXICO (Metalaxyl 8% + Mancozeb 64% WP) Fungicide
Description:
AGRIVENTURE MAXICO is a broad-spectrum, dual-action fungicide widely used to protect agricultural crops against Oomycete fungal diseases (e.g., blights, downy mildew, and damping-off). It provides both systemic and contact protection.
Technical content: Metalaxyl 8% + Mancozeb 64% WP
Key Features & Benefits:
- Dual Action Protection: Combines systemic (Metalaxyl) and contact (Mancozeb) activities to cure existing internal infections and form a protective shield on the plant's surface.
- Preventive & Curative: Stops new fungal spores from germinating while simultaneously halting the growth of fungi that have already penetrated plant tissues.
- Broad-Spectrum Control: Highly effective against Oomycetes fungi and various diseases such as Late/Early Blight, Downy Mildew, Damping Off, and Phytophthora.
- Rain-Fast & Long Residual: Quickly absorbed into plant tissue, remaining active and effective for up to 14 days, even after light rainfall.
- Resistance Management: Multi-site contact action helps prevent or delay fungi from building immunity to the treatment over the season.
- Versatile Application: Can be applied as a standard foliar spray or as a soil drench for soil-borne fungal diseases.
Crops suitability: Paddy, Wheat, Tea, Coffee, Potato, Tomato, Chilli, Apple, Grapes, Mustard Tobacco, Black Pepper
Commonly used for (Insect / Diseases):
- Potato & Tomato: Late Blight, Early Blight, Damping off.
- Chilli: Fruit Rot, Leaf Spot.
- Mustard: White Rust, Downy Mildew, Alternaria Blight.
- Grapes: Downy Mildew.
- Tobacco: Damping off, Black shank.
- Black Pepper: Phytophthora Root Rot, Foot rot.
- Pearl Millet (Bajra): Downy Mildew.
Mode of entry:
- Systemic Action (Metalaxyl): Absorbed rapidly through the roots and leaves. It moves upwards inside the plant to cure existing infections by disrupting fungal protein and nucleic acid synthesis.
- Contact Action (Mancozeb): Remains on the plant's external surfaces to form a protective shield. It acts as a multisite respiratory inhibitor, stopping new fungal spores from germinating and penetrating the plant.
Mode of action:
1. Systemic Action (Metalaxyl 8%)
- Uptake: Quickly absorbed by the plant's roots and leaves, translocating upward through the vascular system.
- Curative & Preventive: Halts internal fungal development and mycelial growth.
- Mechanism: Disrupts nucleic acid synthesis by inhibiting RNA polymerase in the fungal pathogen, effectively starving the fungus of required proteins.
2. Contact/Protective Action (Mancozeb 64%)
- Surface Shield: Remains on the external plant surface, creating a protective barrier that prevents spore germination and fungal penetration.
- Multi-site Inhibition: Interferes with multiple biochemical processes inside the fungal cytoplasm and mitochondria, making it highly effective at preventing the fungus from building resistance.
Mode of application: Foliar Spray, Soil Drenching, Seed Treatment
