AGRIVENTURE CYMOXZEB (Cymoxanil 8% + Mancozeb 64% WP) Fungicide
Description:
AGRIVENTURE CYMOXZEB is a broad-spectrum, dual-action fungicide widely used to protect crops against downy mildew and late blight. It combines the systemic properties of Cymoxanil (which stops internal fungal growth) with the contact action of Mancozeb (which creates a protective external barrier on the plant).
Technical content: Cymoxanil 8% + Mancozeb 64% WP
Key Features & Benefits:
- Dual Mode of Action: Delivers both systemic (Cymoxanil) and contact (Mancozeb) activity for comprehensive disease management.
- Kick-Back (Curative) Action: Cymoxanil rapidly penetrates plant tissues (usually within 3 hours) to halt fungal growth from the inside, making it effective even after early infection has begun.
- Protective Shield: Mancozeb acts as a barrier on the surface of leaves and stems, preventing new fungal spores from germinating and entering the plant.
- Anti-Sporulant Properties: It actively reduces spore viability and inhibits the formation of intercellular hyphae, effectively stopping the disease from spreading further.
- Rain-Fastness: Once absorbed, it demonstrates good wash-off resistance during sudden rain showers, ensuring continued protection.
- Low Resistance Risk: Multi-site and specific-site activities combined ensure it is highly effective against fungal populations that may have built resistance to single-action fungicides.
Crops suitability: Potato, Tomato, Grapes, Cucumber, Citrus
Commonly used for (Insect / Diseases):
- Late Blight: Affects Potato and Tomato crops.
- Downy Mildew: Affects Grapes, Cucumbers, and melons.
- Other Fungal Spots: Controls leaf spots, fruit rot, and blights (e.g., Alternaria or Stemphylium) in various vegetables and field crops.
- Gummosis (Foot Rot): Affects citrus crops.
Mode of entry:
- Systemic (Cymoxanil): Rapidly absorbed into plant tissues (translaminar movement) to hunt down and stop the growth of incubating fungi from the inside. It also acts as an anti-sporulant to prevent new spore production.
- Contact (Mancozeb): Remains on the outer plant surface, creating a protective shield that prevents fungal spores from germinating and entering the plant.
Mode of action:
1. Translaminar & Locally Systemic Action (Cymoxanil):
- Absorbed rapidly into plant tissues (usually within 3 hours).
- Moves locally within the leaves, disrupting pathogen development and halting fungal growth internally.
- Provides curative ("kick-back") action even after an infection has started.
- Inhibits sporulation and prevents the fungus from producing spores, limiting the spread of disease.
2. Contact & Protectant Action (Mancozeb):
- Remains on the plant surface to form a chemical protective barrier.
- Inhibits spore germination on contact, preventing new infections from taking hold.
- Multi-site protectant, which makes it highly effective at preventing the fungus from building resistance.
