Mode of action:
- Inhibition of Cell Division: It belongs to the benzimidazole group (FRAC Group 1). It works by binding to the fungal protein β-tubulin, which prevents the assembly of microtubules. This successfully halts nuclear division (mitosis) during cell division.
- Stops Fungal Growth: By disrupting mitosis, it stops mycelial growth, the formation of appressoria (infection structures), and the development of germ tubes, preventing the pathogen from spreading.
- Systemic Translocation: Once absorbed by the plant's roots or foliage, the active ingredient moves inside the plant through the xylem vessels along the sap stream, distributing internally.
