Description:

AGRIVENTURE VALIDA is an antibiotic fungicide derived from Streptomyces hygroscopicus. It is primarily used to control Sheath Blight in paddy (rice) crops. It works through contact action to destroy fungal hyphae and halt the spread of soil-borne diseases and Rhizoctonia solani.

Mode of entry: Systemic (absorbed by plant tissues) combined with strong contact action upon direct contact with the pathogen.

Mode of action:

• Enzyme Inhibition: Validamycin competitively inhibits the enzyme trehalase, effectively blocking the fungus from utilizing carbohydrates and sugars for energy.
• Hyphal Disruption: It targets the fungal hyphae (filaments that make up the fungus). Upon contact, it causes the tips of the hyphae to branch abnormally.
• Cessation of Growth: This abnormal branching immediately halts the development of the pathogen, preventing the infection from spreading to healthy parts of the plant.
