AGRIVENTURE THIOMET (Thiophanate Methyl 70% WP) Fungicide
Description:
AGRIVENTURE THIOMET is a broad-spectrum, systemic fungicide containing 70% active ingredient in a Wettable Powder formulation. It offers both preventive and curative control against fungal infections (like powdery mildew, rust, and scab) by stopping fungal cell division.
Technical content: Thiophanate Methyl 70% WP
Key Features & Benefits:
- Triple Action: Provides a unique combination of preventive (stops spore germination), curative (eradicates established colonies), and systemic (translocates throughout the plant) properties.
- Systemic Mobility: Rapidly absorbed by plant leaves and roots, moving internally to protect all plant parts—including new growth.
- Cell Division Inhibition: Acts on the fungal reproductive system, disrupting mitosis to effectively halt fungal cell division and development.
- Fast Dissolving & Long-Lasting: The Wettable Powder dissolves quickly and uniformly in water. It typically provides persistent crop protection for 10 to 15 days after application.
- Phytotonic Effect: Often contains atomic sulfur, which provides an added phytotonic and antifungal benefit that brings a healthy greenness to crops.
Crops suitability: Apple, Grapes, Papaya, Tomato, Cucurbits, Bottle Gourd, Chillies, Paddy/Rice, Wheat, Pigeon Pea, Cotton
Commonly used for (Insect / Diseases): Powdery Mildew, Anthracnose & Fruit Rot, Scab, Fusarium Wilt & Damping Off, Rust & Leaf Blight, Blast, sheath blight, and grain discoloration.
Mode of entry: Systemic
Mode of action:
- Systemic Translocation: Once absorbed through the plant’s leaves, roots, or stems, it is rapidly transported throughout the plant's vascular system (via the xylem) to provide internal, long-lasting protection.
- Active Conversion (Pro-fungicide): The product itself is inactive upon application. Once inside the plant, it converts into its active fungicidal form, Carbendazim.
- Cell Division Inhibition: The active compound inhibits the polymerization of tubulin, a crucial protein needed to form spindle fibers during fungal cell division. This prevents chromosomes from separating properly, ultimately arresting fungal growth and killing the cells.
- Dual Action: It stops new fungal spores from germinating (preventive) while also halting the progression of already established, early infections (curative).
Mode of application: Foliar spray (most common), Seed treatment, Seedling root dip, and Soil drenching
Dose: 30 - 60gm in 15-liter water or 50gm in 20kg Seed treatment
