AGRIVENTURE TEBUCAP (Tebuconazole 6.7% + Captan 26.9% SC) Fungicide
Description:
AGRIVENTURE TEBUCAP is a dual-action, broad-spectrum fungicide formulated as a Suspension Concentrate (SC). It combines a systemic triazole fungicide (tebuconazole) with a multi-site contact fungicide (captan) to provide both preventive and curative control against various fungal pathogens.
Technical content: Tebuconazole 6.7% + Captan 26.9% SC
Key Features & Benefits:
- Dual Mode of Action: Combines a systemic triazole (Tebuconazole) that stops fungal growth internally with a multi-site contact fungicide (Captan) that creates a protective external barrier against spore germination.
- Translaminar Properties: Capable of moving from the upper surface to the lower surface of leaves, providing thorough and complete coverage.
- Broad-Spectrum Disease Control: Highly effective against a wide variety of fungal pathogens, including powdery mildew, anthracnose, Alternaria leaf spot, blights, and fruit rot.
- Long-lasting Residual Action: The SC (Suspension Concentrate) formulation adheres strongly to waxy plant and leaf surfaces, ensuring excellent rainfastness and sustained post-application protection.
- Preventive & Curative: Acts as both a preventive agent to ward off new infections and a curative measure to suppress and reduce the severity of existing diseases.
- Phytotonic Effect: Often leads to better crop vigor, healthier leaves, and improved fruit quality resulting in higher overall yields.
- Resistance Management: By attacking the fungus via multiple metabolic pathways across the cell membrane and energy production systems, it helps delay the development of fungicide resistance.
Crops suitability:
- Fruits: Apple, Banana, Cherry, Grapes, Mango, Peach, Pear
- Vegetables: Chilli, Garlic, Okra, Onion, Tomato, Pea, Cucurbits
- Cash Crops: Soybean, Sugarcane, Tea, Wheat, and Roses
Commonly used for (Insect / Diseases): Powdery Mildew, Anthracnose, Alternaria Leaf Spot / Blight, Scab (especially on apples), Rust, Die-back, Fruit Rot, and Smuts
Mode of entry:
- Systemic (Tebuconazole): Enters the plant tissues (including translaminar movement) to inhibit internal fungal growth, offering curative and preventive benefits.
- Contact (Captan): Remains on the plant surface to create a protective barrier, preventing fungal spore germination and new infections.
Mode of action:
1. Tebuconazole (6.7%):
- Biochemical Action: Belongs to the triazole group (FRAC Group 3). It inhibits the C14-demethylase enzyme, which halts ergosterol biosynthesis. Ergosterol is an essential component of fungal cell membranes, so its absence causes the fungal cells to rupture and die.
2. Captan (26.9%):
- Biochemical Action: Belongs to the phthalimide group (FRAC Group M04). It acts as a multi-site inhibitor, deactivating thiol-containing enzymes within fungal cells. This cripples the fungi's energy production and metabolic functions, stopping spores from germinating.
