AGRIVENTURE COOXY (Copper Oxychloride 50% WP) Fungicide

AGRIVENTURE COOXY (Copper Oxychloride 50% WP) Fungicide

Description:

AGRIVENTURE COOXY is a broad-spectrum contact fungicide and bactericide. Widely used in Indian agriculture, it prevents and controls devastating blights, downy mildew, and leaf spots across crops like tomato, chilli, grapes, and coffee. It works by forming a protective layer on foliage, slowly releasing copper ions to kill pathogens.

Technical content: Copper Oxychloride 50% WP

Key Features & Benefits:

  • Multi-Site Action: Acts on various cellular components of pathogens, making it highly effective at preventing the development of fungal resistance.
  • Dual Protection: Fights both fungal and bacterial diseases (such as early/late blight, downy mildew, and canker).
  • Long-Lasting: The fine powder particles adhere strongly to the foliage. With its low solubility, it gradually releases copper ions to extend disease protection.
  • User-Friendly: The Wettable Powder (WP) formulation disperses easily in water and can be applied through various standard sprayers.
  • Versatile Application: Safe to use on a wide variety of crops including vegetables (tomatoes, potatoes, chili), fruits (grapes, citrus, banana), and plantations (coffee, tea, cardamom).

Crops suitability:

  • Fruits & Orchards: Grapes, Citrus, Mango, Banana, Apple, Papaya, and Pomegranate.
  • Vegetables: Chilli, Tomato, Potato and Cumin.
  • Plantation & Cash Crops: Coffee, Cardamom, Coconut, Betel nut, and Tobacco.
  • Field Crops: Paddy and various pulses.

Commonly used for (Insect / Diseases):

  • Late Blight & Early Blight: Tomatoes, potatoes
  • Downy Mildew: Grapes, tobacco, cucurbits, onions
  • Leaf Spot & Fruit Rot: Chillies, bananas, tomatoes, groundnuts
  • Canker & Scab: Citrus, mango
  • Rust: Coffee, various field crops
  • Rhizome Rot & Foot Rot: Ginger, turmeric, betel
  • Bud Rot: Coconut

Mode of entry:

Contact Entry: Unlike systemic chemicals, it does not penetrate plant tissue. Instead, it creates a thin, protective barrier over the crop to stop pathogens on contact.

Mode of action:

  • Protective Barrier: Upon application, the fine wettable powder particles stick to plant surfaces (leaves, stems, fruits) to form a uniform, rain-resistant protective layer.
  • Spore Inhibition: The deposited copper dissolves in moisture (like dew or light rain) and slowly releases free copper ions. Active fungal spores absorb these ions passively during germination.
  • Cellular Disruption: Once inside the pathogen, the copper ions target multiple molecular sites. They bind to sulfhydryl (-SH) groups in enzymes and proteins, inactivating them.
  • Pathogen Elimination: This enzymatic disruption damages cell membranes, halts respiration, and causes protein denaturation, effectively killing the spore or bacteria before it can infect the plant tissue.

Mode of application: Foliar Spray and Seed/Rhizome Treatment
