AGRIVENTURE NOVA INDEX (Novaluron 5.25% + Indoxacarb 4.5% SC) Insecticide
Description:
AGRIVENTURE NOVA INDEX is a powerful, dual-action suspension concentrate insecticide used in agriculture to control a broad range of lepidopteran pests (caterpillars and borers). It combines the growth-regulating properties of Novaluron with the nerve-poisoning knockdown effect of Indoxacarb to break the insect's life cycle.
Technical content: Novaluron 5.25% + Indoxacarb 4.5% SC
Key Features & Benefits:
- Dual Mode of Action: Combines a Chitin Synthesis Inhibitor (Novaluron) with a Sodium Channel Blocker (Indoxacarb). Novaluron stops larvae from molting and growing, while Indoxacarb immediately paralyzes them.
- Fast Knockdown: Pests cease feeding almost immediately upon contact or ingestion, preventing further crop damage within hours.
- Extended Residual Control: The combination attacks multiple life stages (targeting both eggs and developing larvae), keeping pest populations in check for a prolonged period.
- Resistance Management: Because it features two distinct chemical groups, it is an excellent tool to prevent pests from building chemical resistance.
- Phytotonic Effect: Often boosts overall plant health and vigor in addition to protecting against yield loss
Crops suitability: Tomatoes, cotton, chili, soybeans, paddy (rice), pigeon peas, chickpeas, and groundnuts.
Commonly used for (Insect / Diseases):
- Borers: Fruit borer, pod borer, stem borer, and leaf borer.
- Caterpillars: Spodoptera (Tobacco/Cotton caterpillar), Helicoverpa (Gram pod borer/American bollworm), and Fall Armyworms.
- Other Pests: Diamondback Moth (DBM), Leaf Folder, Leaf Roller, and Semilooper.
Mode of entry:
- Contact Action: The chemical is absorbed directly through the insect's cuticle (skin) upon application or when pests crawl over treated foliage.
- Stomach Action: The active ingredients are ingested when the insect feeds on the treated plant tissue.
Mode of action:
- Novaluron (5.25%): Acts as an insect growth regulator (chitin synthesis inhibitor). It prevents larvae from forming new exoskeletons during the molting process, stopping them from maturing into adults.
- Indoxacarb (4.5%): Acts as a sodium channel blocker. It targets the insect's nervous system, causing them to stop feeding immediately before succumbing to paralysis and death within 1 to 2 days.
Mode of application: Foliar spray
Dose: 1.5 -2ml per 1 liter water or 25 - 30ml in 15-liter water
Additional information:
- Timing: Apply at the first sign of pest activity or during the early larval stage for maximum effectiveness.
- Application Window: Best sprayed during the early morning or late evening when temperatures are cool and wind is minimal.
- Pre-Harvest Interval (PHI): The waiting period between the last spray and harvest is generally 5 days for vegetables (like tomato and chilli) and 14–21 days for legumes and grains.
