AGRIVENTURE INDOCARB is a broad-spectrum, suspension concentrate insecticide used to control lepidopteran pests like bollworms, fruit borers, and diamondback moths across crops such as cotton, cabbage, and tomato. It acts via contact and ingestion, paralyzing the insect by blocking its neuronal sodium channels.

Mode of entry:

• Contact Action: The insecticide enters the insect's body directly through its cuticle (outer covering) when sprayed.
• Stomach Action: The insect ingests the chemical while chewing or feeding on the leaves and stems of treated plants.

Mode of action:

• Pro-insecticide Activation: Indoxacarb is a "pro-insecticide". Once it is ingested or makes contact with the insect, the insect's internal metabolic enzymes convert it into a highly active metabolite.
• Nerve Disruption: This active metabolite blocks the voltage-dependent sodium channels in the insect's nerve cells, which disrupts the transmission of nerve impulses.
• Immediate Cessation of Feeding: Affected insects suffer from poor coordination and paralysis, causing them to stop feeding almost immediately. Death generally occurs within 2 to 4 days.
• Translaminar Movement: While it is non-systemic, the chemical has translaminar movement—meaning it can penetrate the leaf surface, protecting both the upper and lower sides of the leaves.
