AGRIVENTURE OBIFEN (Bifenthrin 10% EC) Insecticide
Description:
AGRIVENTURE OBIFEN is a powerful, broad-spectrum synthetic pyrethroid insecticide and termiticide. It works via contact and stomach action to eliminate a wide variety of pests by disrupting their nervous system.
Technical content: Bifenthrin 10% EC
Key Features & Benefits:
- Dual-Action Control: Eliminates pests upon contact or ingestion by disrupting their nervous system and interfering with sodium ion channels, causing rapid paralysis and death.
- Broad-Spectrum Efficacy: Effectively targets a wide variety of pests, including bollworms, whiteflies, stem borers, leaf folders, green leaf hoppers, jassids, and spider mites.
- Exceptional Termiticide: Features strong soil-binding properties, making it an excellent, long-lasting barrier treatment for controlling soil-dwelling termites (especially in sugarcane crops).
- Phyto-Tonic Effect: Enhances overall crop vigor and health post-application, promoting better growth and higher-quality produce.
- Long Residual Action: Delivers extended protection, keeping plants and soil defended against recurring pest populations for 10 to 15 days.
- Rainfast & Stable: Adheres quickly to leaf surfaces and is highly stable at higher temperatures, ensuring performance even after light rainfall.
Crops suitability: Cotton, Rice (Paddy), Sugarcane, Brinjal, Chili, Soybean, Pulses, Groundnut, Tea, and Ornamentals.
Commonly used for (Insect / Diseases):
- Cotton: Highly effective against Bollworms and Whiteflies.
- Rice (Paddy): Protects against Stem borers, Leaf folders, and Green leaf hoppers.
- Sugarcane: Primarily used as a soil drench or base spray to control Termites.
- Vegetables (e.g., Brinjal, Chili): Controls Yellow mites, Thrips, and Shoot & fruit borers.
- Other Crops: Also suitable for Soybean, Pulses, Groundnut, Tea, and Ornamentals.
Mode of entry:
- Contact Action: The chemical affects the pest directly upon contact with the spray droplets or when the insect walks over treated leaves and soil surfaces.
- Stomach Action: The active ingredient is ingested when the insect feeds on treated plant parts, which quickly stops further crop damage.
Mode of action:
- Nerve Disruption: It disrupts the function of the insect's central and peripheral nervous system.
- Sodium Channel Interference: It binds to the nerve cell membrane and prevents the closure of voltage-gated sodium channels.
- Paralysis and Death: This causes a continuous transmission of nerve impulses, leading to rapid knockdown, muscle paralysis, and eventual death of the pest.
Mode of application: Foliar spray or Soil drench
