AGRIVENTURE CHLO CYPER (Chlorpyriphos 50% + Cypermethrin 5% EC) Insecticide
Description:
AGRIVENTURE CHLO CYPER is a powerful, broad-spectrum combination insecticide widely used in agriculture. It provides a dual-mode action—delivering instant knockdown of insects through contact, while also offering long-lasting residual protection against both sucking and chewing pests.
Technical content: Chlorpyriphos 50% + Cypermethrin 5% EC
Key Features & Benefits:
- Dual-Action & Synergistic Effect: Combines contact, stomach, and fumigant actions. Chlorpyriphos disrupts nerve signals by inhibiting acetylcholinesterase, while Cypermethrin targets the nervous system by blocking voltage-gated sodium channels, ensuring rapid paralysis and death.
- Quick Knockdown & Residual Activity: The Cypermethrin component provides immediate knockdown effects, while the Chlorpyriphos provides extended residual protection on the foliage, preventing subsequent pest generations from damaging the crop.
- Broad-Spectrum Control: Highly effective against a wide variety of mixed pest infestations including sucking pests (aphids, thrips, jassids, whiteflies), borers (stem borers, fruit borers, shoot borers), and caterpillars (bollworms, leaf folders, cutworms).
- Versatile Application & Compatibility: Easily mixes with water into a stable emulsion. It is tank-mix compatible with most standard fertilizers and fungicides, and can be used for foliar sprays or soil drenches depending on the pest.
- Crop Protection: Widely used to protect valuable agricultural crops such as cotton, paddy, sugarcane, groundnut, and various vegetables.
Crops suitability: Cotton, Sugarcane, Paddy/Rice, Maize, Brinjal, Tomato, Chili, Okra, Cabbage, Citrus, Mango, Apple.
Commonly used for (Insect / Diseases):
- Cotton: Spotted, pink, and American bollworms
- Paddy/Rice: Stem borers, leaf folders
- Brinjal: Shoot and fruit borers
Mode of entry: Contact, Stomach, and Vapor action
Mode of action:
- Contact and Stomach Action (Chlorpyriphos): This organophosphate inhibits the enzyme acetylcholinesterase. This causes an accumulation of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, leading to extreme nerve overstimulation, paralysis, and death. It acts directly upon contact or when the pest ingests the treated plant.
- Nerve Function Disruption (Cypermethrin): This synthetic pyrethroid acts primarily through contact. It disrupts the normal function of voltage-gated sodium channels in the insect's nerve cells, causing a buildup of sodium ions. This results in rapid hyperexcitation, a fast knockdown effect, and ultimate paralysis.
Mode of application: Foliar spray or Soil drench
