AGRIVENTURE THI SILVER is a water-dispersible granule (WG) formulation of a powerful neonicotinoid systemic insecticide. It is primarily used to control a broad spectrum of sucking and chewing pests—like whiteflies, aphids, jassids, and thrips—across various crops such as cotton, rice, and vegetables.

Mode of entry:

• Contact: Absorbed directly through the insect's cuticle or tracheal system.
• Stomach: Ingested while the insect is feeding on the treated plant.
• Systemic Translocation: Once applied (via spray or soil drench), the active ingredient is rapidly taken up by roots and leaves and transported to all parts of the plant.

Mode of action:

• Receptor Disruption: It mimics the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, binding strongly to the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) in the insect's central nervous system.
• Nerve Firing: This binding triggers continuous, abnormal nerve impulses.
• Paralysis & Death: The continuous stimulation causes irreversible hyperexcitation, convulsions, and eventual muscle paralysis, resulting in the pest's death.
