AGRIVENTURE CHLORPY (Chlorpyriphos 50% EC) Insecticide
Description:
AGRIVENTURE CHLORPY is a broad-spectrum organophosphate insecticide and termiticide. It controls pests via contact, stomach, and vapor/fumigant action. It is heavily used in Indian agriculture for foliar spraying and soil drenching.
Technical content: Chlorpyriphos 50% EC
Key Features & Benefits:
- Triple Action Mechanism: Works as a contact poison, stomach poison, and fumigant, allowing it to penetrate dense canopies and kill hidden pests.
- High Concentration: The 50% active ingredient delivers stronger, longer-lasting control compared to standard 20% formulations.
- Quick Knockdown: Starts eliminating pest populations rapidly after application to prevent further crop damage.
- Versatile Application: Can be used as a foliar spray or a soil drench.
- Excellent Termiticide: Highly effective against subterranean termites for both agricultural protection and pre/post-construction structural treatment.
Crops suitability: Widely used on cotton, paddy (rice), groundnut, sugarcane, and maize.
Commonly used for (Insect / Diseases): Effective against bollworms, stem borers, leaf rollers, aphids, whiteflies, thrips, and root grubs.
Mode of entry:
- Contact Action: The chemical kills the pest when they directly touch the sprayed liquid or walk over treated plant surfaces.
- Stomach Action: The insecticide is ingested when the insect feeds on treated crops, acting as a poison in the pest's digestive tract.
- Vapor / Fumigant Action: The active ingredient releases fumes that penetrate the insect's respiratory system, making it highly effective for burrowing pests (like stem borers) and soil insects.
Mode of action:
- Acetylcholinesterase Inhibition: It works by blocking the enzyme acetylcholinesterase (AChE).
- Nerve Signal Overload: This enzyme is essential for breaking down the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. By blocking AChE, acetylcholine builds up continuously in the insect's synapses.
- Paralysis & Death: The resulting nerve signal overload causes hyperactivity, tremors, paralysis, and ultimately death of the targeted pest.
Mode of application: Foliar spray or a Soil drench.
