AGRIVENTURE FIPRO SILVER (Fipronil 5% SC) Insecticide
Description:
AGRIVENTURE FIPRO SILVER is a broad-spectrum phenyl-pyrazole insecticide that disrupts the central nervous system of insects. Formulated as a Suspension Concentrate (SC), it is primarily used in agriculture and domestic settings to control both chewing and sucking pests, such as thrips, termites, whiteflies, and borers.
Technical content: Fipronil 5% SC
Key Features & Benefits:
- Multi-Action Control: Acts as a contact, stomach, and systemic poison, meaning insects die by touching, eating, or absorbing it into the plant.
- Nerve Disruption (GABA Blocker): Works by blocking GABA-regulated chloride channels in the insect's nervous system, causing uncontrollable nerve excitation, paralysis, and death.
- Exceptional Termite Management: Highly effective against termites (all species) and root borers. Because fipronil is slow-acting and non-repellent, foraging termites unknowingly carry and spread it throughout their colony.
- Plant Growth Enhancement (PGE): Acts as a phytotonic that promotes healthier roots, greener foliage, and increased overall yield in many crops.
- Long Residual Action: Provides excellent, long-lasting residual control, reducing the need for frequent reapplications and saving on labor and costs.
- Target Specificity: Highly effective against harmful pests while demonstrating target-site selectivity that spares many beneficial insects and soil organisms when applied at recommended doses.
- Rainfast Technology: Resists wash-off from rainfall after application, ensuring consistent performance in varying weather conditions.
Crops suitability: Rice, Cotton, Sugarcane and Chillies
Commonly used for (Insect / Diseases): Stem Borers, Aphids, Jassids, and Thrips
Mode of entry:
- Ingestion (Stomach Action): This is the primary method. Insects consume the treated plant tissue or soil, and the active ingredient is absorbed directly into their gut.
- Contact Action: The insecticide can penetrate the insect's exoskeleton or cuticle upon physical contact with treated surfaces.
- Systemic Action: When applied as a soil drench or seed treatment, the chemical is absorbed by the plant roots and distributed throughout the stems and leaves, targeting sap-feeding and boring insects.
Mode of action:
- Neural Interruption: It prevents the passage/uptake of chloride ions through the Gamma Amino Butyric Acid (GABA) receptors.
- Hyperexcitation: Blocking these channels causes excess neuronal stimulation, resulting in rapid hyperexcitation of nerves and muscles.
- Paralysis and Death: The resulting nerve and muscle hyperactivity leads to paralysis and the eventual death of the target pest.
Mode of application: Foliar spray or Soil drench
