AGRIVENTURE EMABENZ GOLD (Emamectin benzoate 5% SG) Insecticide
Description:
AGRIVENTURE EMABENZ GOLD is a highly effective, water-soluble granular insecticide derived from the avermectin family. It is primarily used to control lepidopteran larvae (caterpillars, bollworms, and borers) in a wide variety of field crops, vegetables, and fruits.
Technical content: Emamectin benzoate 5% SG
Key Features & Benefits:
- Fast Knockdown: Pests stop feeding within 1 to 4 hours of ingestion, preventing further immediate damage to crops, even before the insect dies within 2 to 4 days.
- Translaminar Action: The insecticide penetrates leaf tissues, creating a hidden reservoir that kills pests (such as hidden borers) feeding on the underside of leaves.
- Rainfastness: It is absorbed into the foliage within 4 hours of spraying, meaning it is not easily washed away by sudden rain.
- Cost-Effective: Requires a very low dose (typically 80 to 100 grams per acre), making it highly economical for farmers.
- Zero Phytotoxicity: The soluble granular (SG) formulation leaves no powdery residue and contains no harsh solvents that can burn tender leaves.
- IPM Friendly: Once dry, it is generally safe for beneficial predatory insects, making it a sustainable choice for Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
Crops suitability:
- Field & Cash Crops: Cotton (bollworms), Maize (Fall armyworm), Soybean, Pulses (pod borers), Tobacco.
- Vegetables: Okra (fruit/shoot borer), Cabbage (Diamondback moth), Chilli (fruit borer, thrips, mites), Cauliflower, Brinjal.
- Fruits & Beverages: Grapes (thrips), Tea (tea looper), Citrus, Apples.
Commonly used for (Insect / Diseases):
- Bollworms: American bollworm and Pink bollworm (especially in cotton).
- Borers: Fruit and Shoot borers, and Pod borers (commonly in brinjal, okra, and pulses).
- Caterpillars: Diamondback moth (in cabbage), Tobacco caterpillar, and Fall armyworm (in maize).
- Other Pests: Thrips, Mites, and Leaf miners.
Mode of entry:
- Contact & Stomach Action: The insecticide affects pests both upon direct contact and when the insect ingests treated foliage.
- Translaminar Movement: When sprayed, it penetrates the leaf tissue, forming a reservoir of active ingredient within the leaf. This allows it to control hidden or internal feeders (like stem and fruit borers) that feed on the undersides or inside of the leaves.
Mode of action:
- Nerve Disruption: It binds to the glutamate-gated chloride channels (GluCl) in the insect's nerve and muscle cells.
- Channel Activation: This binding forces these channels to stay open, causing an influx of chloride ions that hyperpolarize the cell membrane.
- Paralysis: The hyperpolarization blocks the transmission of nerve signals, leading to irreversible paralysis.
Mode of application: Foliar spray
