AGRIVENTURE IMAZE (Imazethapyr 10% SL) Herbicide

AGRIVENTURE IMAZE (Imazethapyr 10% SL) Herbicide

Description:

AGRIVENTURE IMAZ is a selective, systemic herbicide designed to control grassy and broadleaf weeds in leguminous crops like soybeans, groundnuts, and pulses. It works by inhibiting weed enzymes, destroying cell development, and is absorbed by both foliage and roots for long-lasting residual control.

Technical content: Imazethapyr 10% SL

Key Features & Benefits:

  • Systemic and Contact Action: Absorbed through both the foliage and roots, it quickly translocates throughout the entire weed to kill it from the root tip up.
  • Long Residual Control: It offers excellent residual soil activity, meaning it not only kills actively growing weeds but also prevents the emergence of new weeds for several weeks.
  • Crop Selectivity: It specifically targets weeds while remaining completely safe for legume and pulse crops, reducing early-stage nutrient competition and maximizing yields.
  • No Succeeding Crop Damage: It controls the target weeds efficiently without leaving harmful residual effects that could impact your next rotational crop.
  • Cost-Effective: By providing both immediate and long-term weed control, it limits the need for expensive and labor-intensive manual weeding.

Crops suitability:

  • Primary Crops: Soybean and Groundnut (Peanut)
  • Pulses & Legumes: Moong bean, Urad bean, and Pigeon pea
  • Other Crops: Onion, Tea, Mentha, and Direct Seeded Rice (depending on regional recommendations)

Commonly used for: AGRIVENTURE IMAZ is commonly used to control a broad spectrum of annual grassy weeds, sedges, and broadleaf weeds.

Mode of entry:

AGRIVENTURE IMAZ is a selective, systemic herbicide with both foliar and soil (residual) activity. It enters the plant through both the roots and leaves, translocates throughout the weed's vascular system, and accumulates at the growing points where it stops protein synthesis, eventually causing weed death.

Mode of action:

  • Dual Absorption: The herbicide is rapidly absorbed by both the roots and the foliage of the weeds.
  • Translocation: Once inside, it moves systemically throughout the plant (via the xylem and phloem) and accumulates in the meristematic regions (the growing tips).
  • Enzyme Inhibition: It blocks the ALS (also called AHAS) enzyme, which weeds need to synthesize branched-chain amino acids (valine, leucine, and isoleucine).
  • Plant Death: Without these amino acids, protein and DNA synthesis stop. The weeds stop growing immediately, turn yellow (chlorosis), and completely die within 14 to 21 days.

Mode of application: Foliar spray

Dose: 2ml per 1 liter water or 30 ml in 15-liter water or 400ml per 1 acre

Additional information:

  • Crop Safety: It safely eliminates weeds without harming targeted leguminous crops.
  • Application Window: Commonly applied early post-emergence (about 7–15 days after sowing) when weeds are at the 2–4 leaf stage.
  • Dual Action: Absorbed by both the roots and foliage, it acts as a contact killer while leaving residual control in the soil to stop new weeds from emerging.
