AGRIVENTURE QUIZALO SUPER (Quizalofop Ethyl 10% EC) Herbicide
Description:
AGRIVENTURE QUIZALO SUPER is a selective, systemic post-emergence herbicide widely used to control narrow-leaf (grassy) weeds in broadleaf crops. It is primarily applied as a foliar spray.
Technical content: Quizalofop Ethyl 10% EC
Key Features & Benefits:
- Selective Weed Control: It exclusively targets and destroys narrow-leaf grassy weeds (like barnyard grass, crabgrass, and wild sorghum) while keeping broadleaf crops completely safe.
- Systemic Action: The chemical is quickly absorbed through the weed's leaves and travels down to the roots and rhizomes. This systemic translocation ensures the complete death of the weed with no regrowth.
- Fast-Acting: It halts weed growth within hours of application. Affected weeds typically show discoloration (purplish or red) in 5-8 days and die completely within 10-15 days.
- Rainfastness: Most formulations are quickly absorbed by the foliage and are rainfast within 1 to 4 hours, meaning it remains effective even if it rains shortly after application.
- Residual Effect: It provides long-lasting, extended control, keeping fields clean of new grassy weeds.
- Wide Crop Compatibility: Safe to use across many economically vital broadleaf and pulse crops, including Soybean, Cotton, Groundnut, Black gram (Urad), Green gram (Moong), Onion, Garlic, and Chilli.
Crops suitability:
- Oilseeds: Soybean, Groundnut, Mustard.
- Pulses: Black gram (Urad), Green gram (Moong), Pigeon pea (Tur).
- Cash Crops: Cotton.
- Vegetables & Spices: Onion, Garlic, Potato, Tomato, Chilli, Brinjal, Okra.
- Plantations: Citrus, Grapes.
Commonly used for:
- Barnyard grass (Echinochloa colona)
- Crabgrass (Digitaria sanguinalis)
- Goosegrass (Eleusine indica)
- Johnson grass
- Love grass and Viper grass
Mode of entry: Systemic
Mode of action:
- Enzyme Inhibition: It targets and blocks the Acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACCase) enzyme.
- Lipid Synthesis Failure: ACCase is critical for fatty acid biosynthesis in plants. By inhibiting it, Quizalofop Ethyl stops the production of new lipids required to build cell membranes.
- Complete Death: Meristematic (growing) tissues are quickly starved and destroyed.
Mode of application: Foliar spray
Dose: 15 - 20 ml in 15-liter water
Additional information:
- Application Timing: Post-emergence, typically when grassy weeds are at the 2 to 4 leaf stage.
- Timeline: Visible weed damage (yellowing/redding) occurs in 5–8 days; weeds are completely killed within 10–15 days.
