Description:
AGRIVENTURE METRON (Wettable Powder) is a highly effective, systemic post-emergence herbicide primarily used to control broadleaf weeds. It belongs to the sulfonylurea chemical family and is a low-dose, highly selective weedicide.

- Systemic Mode of Action: Absorbed rapidly through both roots and foliage. It works by inhibiting the ALS (acetolactate synthase) enzyme, which stops essential amino acid production and immediately halts weed growth.

Mode of action:
- Enzyme Inhibition: It inhibits the plant enzyme Acetolactate Synthase (ALS)—also called Acetohydroxyacid Synthase (AHAS).
- Stops Amino Acid Synthesis: Blocking this enzyme prevents the biosynthesis of branched-chain amino acids, specifically valine, leucine, and isoleucine, which are critical for plant protein synthesis.
- Halts Cell Division: The blockage directly halts cell division in the meristematic tissues of both roots and shoots.
- Plant Death: Treated weeds will experience chlorosis (yellowing), growth stunting, and gradual wilting before they are completely eliminated.
