AGRIVENTURE CLODIPRO (Clodinafop Propargyl 15% WP) Herbicide

AGRIVENTURE CLODIPRO (Clodinafop Propargyl 15% WP) Herbicide

Description:

AGRIVENTURE CLODIPRO is a selective, post-emergent systemic herbicide primarily used in wheat to control grassy weeds like Phalaris minor (Canary grass) and wild oats. It is a Wettable Powder (WP) formulation.

Technical content: Clodinafop Propargyl 15% WP

Key Features & Benefits:

  • Targeted Weed Control: Highly effective against problem grasses like Phalaris minor (Canary grass) and Wild Oats.
  • Fast Acting: Susceptible grasses stop growing and begin to decay within 48 hours of application.
  • Systemic Action: Absorbed quickly through the leaves and translocated to the growing points to ensure the weeds are completely destroyed.
  • Crop Safety: Highly selective; it specifically targets grass weeds while remaining completely safe for wheat crops.
  • No Cropping Restrictions: It degrades rapidly in the soil, meaning there are no residual restrictions for subsequent crop rotations.
  • Improves Yield: By removing nutrient competition (for water, sunlight, and fertilizer), it supports uniform crop growth and higher yields.
  • Wettable Powder (WP): Easy to measure and mixes smoothly with water for uniform spraying.

Crops suitability: Wheat, Wheat intercropped with gram, mustard, maize, potato, and other vegetables.

Commonly used for: AGRIVENTURE CLODIPRO effectively manages grassy weeds like Phalaris minor (Little Seed Canary Grass) and Avena fatua (Wild Oats)

Mode of entry: Systemic

Mode of action:

  • ACCase Inhibition: It blocks the activity of the enzyme acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACCase). This enzyme is fundamental for the production of fatty acids, which plants need to build cell membranes and grow.
  • Systemic Translocation: After being absorbed through the leaves of the target weeds, the chemical travels internally (systemically) throughout the plant. It accumulates rapidly in the actively growing tissues (meristems).
  • Growth Stoppage: Weed growth ceases within 48 hours of application.
  • Visible Decay: Within 7 to 14 days, you will see yellowing of the leaves (chlorosis), followed by decay and browning (necrosis). The weed is entirely controlled in about 14 to 21 days.

Mode of application: Foliar spray

Dose: 20gm in 15-liter water

Additional information:

  • Selectivity: It targets only narrow-leaf grassy weeds (such as Phalaris minor and wild oats) while leaving broadleaf cereal crops unharmed.
  • Application Timing: It is generally most effective when applied as a post-emergent spray roughly 30 to 35 days after sowing.
  • Soil Behavior: It degrades rapidly in the soil with little to no soil residual activity, leaving no restrictions for subsequent crop rotations.
